He was predeceased by: his parents, R. M. Cheely, Jr. and Jean Lewis Cheely; his sister Betty; and his brother-in-law Ross Miles. He is survived by: his wife Nita Cheely; his children, Nicole Lewis (Sam), Danielle Cheely and Russ Cheely (Erin); his grandchildren, Reid, Rylan, Noah, Layla, McKenzie, Allyssa (Ray), D. J. and Samantha; his great grandchildren, Liam, Lainey and Tatum; and his siblings, Bobby Cheely (Duke) and Cheryl Howerton (Johnnie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
