She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Marshall Carter and Lucy Elizabeth Carter; her siblings, Foster Carter, Henry Carter, Minnie Brown, Frances Carter and Ann Shenk; her former husband William Thorpe; her stepson Brian (Leesa Hensley); and her niece Tammy Thorpe.
She is survived by: her husband Eugene Hensley; her stepdaughter Kay Godbey (Eddie); and her sister Lorraine Thorpe (Richard).
