He is survived by: his wife Claudia Cay Colvin; his children, Henry Shane Colvin (Jill) of Culpeper, VA and Elizabeth Irene Colvin of Warrenton; his brother William Dale Colvin of Catlett, VA; and his granddaughter Caroline Cay Colvin of Warrenton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research hospital.
