She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Funkhouser and Sylvia Funkhouser; her son Lorne Blaine Holmes; and her brother Gordon Funkhouser. She is survived by: her husband Johnny Brooks; her children, Regina Holmes, Scott Brooks (Michelle) and Andrea Campbell (Scott); her brother Mike Funkhouser (Ruth); her daughter-in-law Deanna Holmes; and her grandchildren, Zac, Abby, Caitlyn (Ethan), Jessica and Jeremy.

Memorial donations may be made to the Midland Church of the Brethren, "By the Manner of Their Living" endowment fund started in honor of her son, Lorne.
