She was predeceased by: her parents, Hudnall Graham Lang and Berniece Sanders Lang Hayden; and her brother George Hudnall Lang. She is survived by: her children, H. Ray Scates, Janice Scates Bell of Warsaw and Mary Scates Hutcheson (Douglas P. Hutcheson, MD) of Richmond; her grandchildren, James Scates (Sithara) of Richmond, Ryan Scates (Eva) of Ashburn, Joshua Bell (Kim) of Doswell and Alivia Hutcheson of Richmond; her great grandchildren, Aiden Scates, Jesse Scates and Natalie Bell; her nephew Graham H. Lang (Lee Ann) of Aylett; her niece Lisa Lang Workman (Joseph) of Mechanicsville; her cousin Woodrow W. Sanders, Jr. of Lee Hall; Patricia M. Given of Tappahannock, Francis and Lucille Gray of Emmerton. She is also survived by many other cousins and friends.
