The passing of Elizabeth Lang Scates of Warsaw, Virginia leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on July 7, 2025 at the age of 83. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hudnall Graham Lang and Berniece Sanders Lang Hayden; and her brother George Hudnall Lang. She is survived by: her children, H. Ray Scates, Janice Scates Bell of Warsaw and Mary Scates Hutcheson (Douglas P. Hutcheson, MD) of Richmond; her grandchildren, James Scates (Sithara) of Richmond, Ryan Scates (Eva) of Ashburn, Joshua Bell (Kim) of Doswell and Alivia Hutcheson of Richmond; her great grandchildren, Aiden Scates, Jesse Scates and Natalie Bell; her sibling's children, Graham H. Lang (Lee Ann) of Aylett and Lisa Lang Workman (Joseph) of Mechanicsville; her cousin Woodrow W. Sanders, Jr. of Lee Hall; and also, Patricia M. Given of Tappahannock, Francis and Lucille Gray of Emmerton. She is also survived by many other cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cobham Park Baptist Church (120 Islington Rd, Warsaw, VA 22572). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
