She was predeceased by : her parents, Ira George and Eva Catherine Stanley; and her brothers, Ira Eugene and William Edward Stanley. She is survived by : her husband Raymond C. Bates; her daughter Jill R. Bates of Washington; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Swartz and Jacob Swartz (Melissa); her great grandchild Haven of Virginia; her brother Howard "Tuc" Stanley; and her sisters-in-law, Lois and Donna Stanley. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Young Ferda was in a bowling league and card club, took college classes, modeled outfits for hospital charity, ice skated, golfed, was a fan of the theater, sewed costumes by hand and did embroidery.
