With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thelma Baldwin Snodgrass in Washington, Virginia, born in Tazewell, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 29, 2025 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Jim" Sheffey Baldwin and Mary Ethel Childress; and her brothers, Lincoln "Lank" Childress of Abingdon and Elmer Baldwin of Meadowview. She is survived by: her husband Garnett G. Snodgrass; her children, Billy "Bill" Snodgrass (Diane) of Abingdon and Dwana Doane (Charles "Chuck") of Saltville; her brothers, Homer Baldwin (Peggy) of Bristol, TN and Ernest Baldwin (Lisa) of Cummings Georgia; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis "Renee" Kidd and Sudie Baldwin of Bristol Virginia; and her grandchildren, Bill Snodgrass, Jr. (Amy), Darrell Snodgrass (Katrina), Jessica Reynolds (Earl), Jenna Brennen (Sean), Justin Barrett (Julia) and Robin Miller (Brandon). She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farris Funeral Service, Inc. – Main Street Chapel (427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens (19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210).
