He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Simmers Powell; his sister Ruth Saunders (Billy); and his parents, George Powell and Christelle Powell. He is survived by: his sons, Ricky Powell (Miriam) and Michael Powell (Miranda); his stepdaughter Cheryl Simmers; his sister Jenny Britt (Russell); his grandchildren, Lillie Atkins (Kaleb), Nick Powell (Haylee Turner), Davis Powell (Jamie) and Dacey Powell; and his great grandchildren, Easton, Emerie and Elsie Atkins.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of George's love of playing ball himself, the family invites donations to Wakefield Baseball.
