He is survived by: his sister Margaret "Peggy" Key Barbera (George "Tinker" Francis); his nephews, Joseph Barbera and Jimi Barbera; his brother James "Jim" Calvin Key (Cathy Heigel Key); his nephew Daniel Key (Kelly); his great-nieces, Nora and Lyra; his nephew Jacob Key; his sister Martha Ann Coughtry (David Laird Coughtry II); his nephew David Coughtry III (Rachel); his great-nephews, D. Laird IV and Abram; his niece Katharine Hayden (Zachary); and his great-nephews, Henry and Charles.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Augusta Memorial Park (1775 Old Goose Crk Rd, Waynesboro, VA 22980).
