He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Alice Hall Johnson and Virginia; and his wife Martha Proctor McLeod Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer McLeod Johnson Wells (Scott) and Matthew Elgene Johnson (Kelli); his grandchildren, Karisa Wells, Victoria Johnson, Konner Johnson (Sarah) and Harrison Wells; his brother Mack Johnson; and his sister-in-law Alice Johnson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McDow Funeral Home (1701 W Main St, Waynesboro, VA 22980). A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church (1301 Red Top Orchard Rd, Waynesboro, VA 22980). A burial was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Middle Fork Cemetery (203 Middle Fork Rd, Marion, VA 24354).
