He was predeceased by: his sister Carolyn; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Rutherford and Chris Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Everett Lacy; his sister Betty Thompson; his sons, John Matthew (Lara) of Seattle, Mark Andrew (Kristi) of Manakin Sabot and Benjamin Everett (Amanda) of Camden, Maine.; and his grandchildren, Madelyn, Jack, Milo, Liam, Patrick, Elizabeth and James.
Memorial donations may be made to the VMI Foundation in Lexington, Virginia, the building fund at St. John's Catholic Church, or a charity of one's choice.
