He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Harris, Sr. and Beatrice Harris; his daughter Janet Lee Whitfield; and his brother Charles E. (Harris, Jr.). He is survived by: his wife Margaret E. Harris; his daughters, Beatrice E. Sprouse and Amy Kennedy; his grandchildren, Christi M. DeWhirst, Tesia D. Wood, Cody Pugh, Jesse Whitfield, Jr. and Tyler L. Whitfield; his great grandchildren, Jazmine DeWhirst, Jamie DeWhirst, Jordan Banks, Jayden Banks and Angel Jones; his sister Nettie Lee Pierce (Ron) of North Carolina; his sister-in-law Linda Harris of Stuarts Draft; and his son-in-law Jesse Whitfiled, Sr..
