He was predeceased by: his parents, Murray Lyman and Grace Taylor Smith. He is survived by: his wife Sara Porter Smith; his sister Cynthia Smith Decker; his brother-in-law Douglas J. Decker; his niece Lauren Decker Gearhart (Timothy Gearhart); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Owen and Finn.
