We are sad to announce that, on February 8, 2026, at the age of 91, Ophelia Bugg Roop of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John W Bugg and Laura R Bugg; her husband Charlie D Roop Sr.; her son Charlie D Roop Jr.; and her siblings, Robert, Eugene Bugg, Ruth DeHart, Frances Wright and Lillian Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy R Higgins (David) of Stevensville, MD and Kendall W Roop (Tracy) of Waynesboro, VA; her grandson David M Higgins (Rebecca); her great grandchildren, Addison C Higgins and Jackson D Higgins of Grasonville, MD; her granddaughter Chessie R Lyle (Nick); her great grandchild Pheonix C Lyle; and her brother William Bugg of Dublin, VA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
