He was predeceased by: his father Phifer Erwin Berry, III (Erwin). He is survived by: his wife Joan Bess Berry; and his children, Erwin Berry of Dunmore, Terri Rooks of High Point, Beth Vawter of York, Tom Berry of Charlottesville, Virginia and Bruce Berry of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family encourages those interested to contribute to the Medi House Hospice of Charlottesville or the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro.
