In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Sara had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Sara may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wallace and Evelyn Stuart Obenschain McAllister; and her sister Carol McAllister Barksdale (J. L.). She is survived by: her husband George Edward Joyner; her sister Mary Kirk McAllister Huske; and her siblings-in-law, Richard Joyner (Jo Anne), Alice Langford (Robert) and Helen James. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Henry Funeral Home (1030 W Beverley St, Staunton, VA 24401).
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested by the family that those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice.
