He was predeceased by: his parents, Delford Matney and Helen Matney. He is survived by: his wife Karen Matney; his children, Eric Anderson (Beth Anne) and Lauren Anderson; his grandchildren, Eloise Anderson, Ellison Anderson and Embry Anderson; and his siblings, Bobby Joe Matney (Jessee), Gary Matney (Stella), John Matney, Victoria Looney (Larry) and Betty Gibson (Joe). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Scott County Funeral Home (2060 US-23, Weber City, VA 24290).
