He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlos Chapman Clifton and Leslie Marie McBride Clifton; his stepfather Glenn Linwood Moser; his sister Brenda Marie Clifton; and his grandson Dominic Gabriel Mendez-Sotero.
He is survived by: his wife Grace Cottee Clifton; his daughters, Shannon Gonzalez of Gaston, NC, Autumn Clifton Bautista (Ignacio) of Brodnax, Michelle Hamlet of North Carolina, Angela Reynolds of Danville, VA. and Victoria Clifton of Gaston, NC; and his siblings, Patricia Jennette Clifton of Stokesville, NC, Angela Dianne Clifton of Danville, VA, Lisa Gail Clifton of Providence, NC., Helen Elaine Clifton of Danville, VA and Sherman Lee Clifton (Teresa) of Mt. Airey, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home (1504 N Mecklenburg Ave, South Hill, VA 23970).
