He is survived by: his wife Carolyn C. Gatling; his children, Amy G. Spring (John) of White Stone, VA, Matthew Douglas Gatling (Nami) of Davie, FL and William Christoper Gatling of Gloucester, VA.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Spring, John M. Spring and Anna Michelle Gatling; and his great grandchildren, Sophia Clarke, Dixieanne Spring and Chandler Spring. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
