He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Lee and Minerva Roop; and his brothers, Lee Roy Roop, Stephen Roger Roop and Otis "HiJoe" Kelly Roop.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Garrett of Locust Grove, Lloyd T. Roop (Dawn) of Manassas, Patsy Roop of Whitetop and Penny Butler (Dale) of Manassas, Virginia; and his siblings, Clifford Roop of Whitetop, Virginia, Rita Stamper of Rugby and Ocil Roop of Crumpler. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Whitetop Presbyterian Church (1830 Old Park Rd, Whitetop, VA 24293). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at the Roop Cemetery.
