He is survived by: his children, Emmanuel Armistead and Kilee Armistead of Columbus, OH; his grandson Bennett James Armistead of Columbus, OH; his mother Hester P. Avery (Charles) of Yorktown, VA; his sisters, Bridgette R. Armistead of Columbus, OH, Crystal L. Hedgebeth of Columbus, OH and Carrie Armistead of Canada; his niece Connie Hedgebeth; his nephews, Xavier Hedgebeth of Columbus, OH, Hunter Waits of Columbus, OH and Joel Waits (Izzy) of Accokeek, MD; his stepsiblings, Shree Avery of New York, Douglas of New York, Michael Avery of New York, Eric Avery of North Carolina and David Avery of Florida; his aunts, Cynthia A Bagley (Reginald) of Yorktown, VA, Evelyn Wright of Yorktown, VA and Corine Banks (Hezekiah) of Newport News; his uncle Thomas R. Paige; and his cousins, Adrienne, Stacy and Reginald. He is also survived by other relatives and caring friends.

Due to the current health pandemic, only 50 people may be in attendance with facial coverings and social distancing required.
