He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxwell Allen and Isabell Allen; his wives, Deaconess Allen of Virginia and Idell Allen; his daughters, Yvonne Minkins and Annette Cuffie; and his siblings, Harold Allen, Vernon Allen, Van Allen, Shirley Allen and Dale Allen.
He is survived by: his son Edward Allen, Jr. (Sandra); his sister-in-law Ann Allen; his sons-in-law, Kershaw Minkins and Willie Cuffie, Jr.; his grandchildren, Robert Walker, Darnell Walker, Marcus Walker, Edward Allen, III, Kiana Thompkins, DeCarlos Thompkins, Ricky Strong and Tiko Strong; his stepgranddaughter Morgan Martin; his stepgreat-granddaughter Olivia Knaus; his close friends, Deacon Robert "Skippy" Ashby, Deacon Ronald Wallace and Brother Roosevelt White; Dr. Robert Whitehead, Sr.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, extended family, church family, and friends.
