He was predeceased by : his parents, Dudley Clay Waltrip and Mary Simmons Waltrip; and his brother Robert Simmons. He is survived by : his sons, Timmy and Champ Karts; his wife Rebecca R. Waltrip; his children, Mary Lisa Waltrip (Robbie), Dudley S., Brian Clay Waltrip (Simone) and Dena Leann Waltrip (Kip); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Brandon, Amy, Dalton, Shelby, Hunter, Austin, Nicholas and Hannah; his great grandchildren, Marshall, Silas, Helen, Lily, Alex, Logan, Brantleigh, Raeleigh and Braxton; and his brother Larry T. Waltrip.
