He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Otis Minns and Ollie B. Minns Washington; his significant other Annette Marie Minns; and his brothers, John Lewis Wade and Albert "Bunny" Minns.
He is survived by: his children, Ernestine "Tina" Minns of Williamsburg and Tyrone Brown (Stacy) of California; his aunt Mattie Minns Phillips; his siblings, Otis Wade (Vickie), Willie Washington III (Darlene), James Jefferson (Dale), Connie Pugh and Savanna "Nettie" Jones (Bruce); his grandchildren, Ebony Jiimmison, Alexis Trotter, Whitney Brown, Kyle Fayerweather and Jared Brown (Katie); his great grandchildren, Kennedy Hamilton and Destiny Tuck; and his close friends, Ernest Jones, Keith Jones and Michael Smith. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (4002 Ironbound Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
He was employed for many years with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the 1776 hotel before becoming a self-employed landscaper.
