He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Piggott and Laura Piggott; his children, Steptivia Piggott, Michael "Bucky" Piggott, Herbert Piggott Jr. and Daryl Piggott; and his siblings, Celia Ferguson, Julia Jones, Mervin Piggott, Willie Piggott and Vernon Piggott.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley Ames Piggott; his children, Sylinda Piggott, Constance "Val" Piggott, Marcie Jones (Wendell) and Vernon Piggott; his daughter-in-law Judy Davis Piggott; his stepchildren, Vinette Smaw, Vamon Garrison and Timothy Morris; his nieces and nephews, Laurestine Fitzgerald, Suzanne Ferguson, Paula Ferguson, Angela McKelvin, Metrise Wayne, Mervin Piggott Jr. and Gilbert Johnson; and his close friend Vivian Redcross. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Shiloh Baptist Church - Williamsburg (8581 Croaker Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
