He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Julia Gray Smith Banks; his brother Charles A. Banks, III of Gloucester, V. A.; his significant other Elizabeth Kight Simpson (Penny) of Williamsburg, V. A.; his daughters, Laura Banks Hardwicke (Timothy), Jennifer McMillan Banks (David) and Catherine Elizabeth Banks; and his parents, Charles A. Banks, Jr. and Madge McMillan Banks. He was also cherished by his four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
