With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Linda King (Williamsburg, Virginia), born in Savannah, Georgia, who passed away on May 7, 2026 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Slater B. Matthews, Sr. and Bessie Lois Matthews; and her brothers, Ervan Harvey Matthews and Mark Jeffrey Matthews. She is survived by: her siblings, Glyn Matthews (Ethel), Patricia Matthews Juarez (Paul), Lottie Matthews Hickman (Alton), Slater Matthews, Jr. (Gloria), Connie Matthews Harshaw (Mike) and Morris Elliott Matthews (Amy); her husband John D. King, Sr.; her children, John D. King, Jr. (Joanna), Zakiya Nichelle Walters, David Walters and Brandon King; her grandchildren, John III, Jordyn, Dash, Rhailyn, Davi and Tyleah; and her great grandchildren, John IV and Ava. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
