She was predeceased by: her cousin Mark Glasgow; and her former husband Joseph Berry. She is survived by: her children, Deirdre Jakabcsin (John), Ian Berry (Emily) and Brendan Berry; her grandchildren, Eric Jakabcsin, Bridget Jakabcsin, Indigo Berry, Charlie Berry and Bohannon Berry; her mother Ruth Schad; and her siblings, Debrann Schad, Charles Schad Jr., Kenneth Schad and Diane Schad Amos.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her name to the World Literacy Foundation, honoring her lifelong love of reading and learning.
