She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Washington and Fannie Lee Washington; her stepfather George Parsons; her husband Henderson Raymond Minkins; her sisters, Elizabeth Lee, Marion Howlette, Catherine Washington, Julia Wallace, Thelma Byrd and Esther Piggott; and her sisters-in-law, Lillian Edwards, Beatrice Etter and Ella Parsons.

She is survived by: her sister Alzenia Holmes; her caregiver Arlene Collins; her godson Eric Thomas; and her close friends, Joseph Edmonds, Jackie Wright, Sandra Copeland, Wilma Bond, Zelma Venters, O'Brian Shelton, Henderson, Lucille and Karen Anislag.

She retired in 1985 as a seamstress with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
