He was predeceased by: his wife Linda M. Monahan; his son John Monahan; and his brothers, Bernie and Billy. He is survived by: his children, James (Diane), Michelle Michael (Jason Dye), Shannon Faulkner (Bo) and Tracey Lane; and his pet Henry. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
