It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Redell Taylor (Williamsburg, Virginia), who passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe A. Whitfield (Louise) and Ethel Wright Whitfield Williams (Payton); her husband William R. Taylor; and her sisters, Inell Hunter and Jean "Kitty" Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Marlon A. Cosby of Hampton, VA, Aleta Minkins (Ronnie) of Hampton, VA, Frances Hines of Hampton, VA, William Taylor (Chalyndria) of Mechanicsville, VA, Ronnie Minkins (Aleta) of Hampton, VA, Darrell Whitehurst (Tonya) of Richmond, VA and Sabrina Murphy (Thurman) of Texas; her siblings, Elder Wayne Whitfield Payton (Doris), Brenda Kindred (Jerrell), Jennifer Britt (James), Lisa Baker (Harvey) and Pamela Williams; and her grandchildren, Latoya Taylor, Latonya Webster (Andre), Natalie King, Jasmine Gordon, Stephanie Calloway (Tajh), Janel Taylor, Kiawaana Harrington and Romello Taylor (Tiaja). She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, loving relatives, and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Whiting's Funeral Home (7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, VA 23185). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
