He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Gordon Ross, Jr. and Winona Ross (Snowdon); and his sister Ruth Claire Dickinson (Ross). He is survived by: his wife Theda L. Rudd; his son David W. Rudd Ross; his grandchildren, Amina Z. Rudd-Trummel and Demetrius P. Israel-Ross; his sibling's children, Mark Dickinson (Rita) of Georgetown, TX, Craig Dickinson (Lorrie) of Wesley Chapel, FL and Jessie Haggith (Jody) of Glencoe, ON; his former wife Jane M. Ross of Grand Rapids, MI; his siblings-in-law, Joanne Dickinson of Port Huron, Theresa Adjei (Kofi) of Duluth, GA, Thomas Prince of Stone Mountain, GA and Lynette Yankson (Ebony Thomas) of Charlotte, NC; his sibling's children, Qena Armstrong (Desmond) of Nashville, TN, Michelle Crump-Morden (Mark) of Southfield, MI and Kwame Yankson (Asso) of Charlotte, NC; and his close friend Laura Monschau of Manchester. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Whiting's Funeral Home (7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, VA 23185).
