He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond Stettler and Hazel Stettler; and his wife Judith Ilene Mellinger Stettler.

In 1971, Bill was awarded a National Science Foundation grant to Michigan State University for Field Ecology and Entomology.
