She was predeceased by: her parents, Sadie Burks and Mitchell Burks; her spouse Uklin Shand; her siblings, Virginia, Irene, Catherine, Mitchell, Mary Jane, Charles, Floyd, Hazel, Kenny and Bobby; and her son Jeffery Burks.
She is survived by: her children, Keith Burks of Ann Arbor, Mi, Vanessa Burks Jackson (James) of Winchester and Donnette Shand of Bronx, NY. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
