She was predeceased by : her parents, Oliver C. Hoover and Alberta Hoover (Hendricks); her husband Mac; and her daughter Alison M. Doherty. She is survived by : her son David B. MacDonald (Jennifer) of Round Hill, VA; her granddaughters, Megan M. Yuska (Peter) of Purcellville, VA, Catherine E. Doherty (Matthew Grant) of Rockville, MD and Emily E. MacDonald of Leesburg, VA; her great grandchildren, Charlotte, Trent and Abigail Yuska; and her son-in-law Michael Doherty of North Potomac, MD..

Please honor her legacy with a contribution to the Alison MacDonald Doherty ('80) Endowment for Geology Student Research Scholarship at James Madison University https://www.jmu.edu.
