She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Ralph Smallman and Kathryn Smallman (Goodwin); her husband Richard Wallace Nicholas; her children, Kathryn J. Nicholas of Chicago, IL, Dr. Richard W. Nicholas of Little Rock, AR and Robert W. Nicholas (Dana) of Callao, VA; her grandchildren, Lauren Nicholas, Katherine Nicholas, Anne Taylor, Claire Nicholas, Mary Finley (Colin) and Mark Johnson; her great grandchildren, Norah Finley, Roy Finley, Olivia Taylor, Emily Taylor, Julie Taylor, Theo Stevens and Archie Stevens; and her brother Dr. Robert A. Smallman.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (116 S Loudoun St, Winchester, VA 22601).
