She was predeceased by: her parents, Gaither Boston Aydelotte and Yetive Jane Aydelotte; and her brother David Glenn Aydelotte. She is survived by: her husband Dr. John Lewis Goodloe III; her daughters, Amy Goodloe Kump (Cyrus) of Winchester, VA, Jennifer Yetive French (John) of Chattanooga, TN and Katherine Goodloe Henson (Ben) of Fairview, NC; her granddaughters, Milly, Jane, Hazel, Elsie Kump, Breckenridge and Jamie Henson; and her siblings-in-law, Jim Goodloe (Carol) of Staunton, VA, Anne Berggren (Kurt) of Ann Arbor, MI and Robin Aydelotte.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Handley Library towards the creation of a new Early Literacy Center on the Handley Library children's floor, a space that holds special memories for Gayle and her daughters and granddaughters.
