He was predeceased by: his father James E. Pearce Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Marilyn Pearce (Robinson); his wife Ellen Marie Johnson; his daughters, Christine M. Combs (Andy), Laura A. Small (George) and Michelle L. Cunningham (Chris); his grandchildren, Alexis R. Small, Mikayla J. Combs, Trent J. Small, Breanne L. Cunningham, Caleb M. Combs, Morgan G. Small and Kinley G. Combs; and his siblings, Susan Tice (Don), Thomas Pearce (Amy) and Robert Pearce (Mary).

“Jim was an incredible man, father. husband, and friend. I worked closely with Jim on Long Island when we both worked for Tom Gulotta the Nassau County Executive. I was the Press Secretary and Jim was the driver/bodyguard for the County Executive. By the nature of our jobs, we were in constant contact with eachother and the County Executive. He made what could have been an intolerable job fun and memorable. He was the best! Dave Vieser”
