He was predeceased by: his parents, Granville Earl Proffitt Sr. and Jacqueline Bowen Proffitt; his son Corey Andrew Proffitt; and his brothers, Dennis Alan Proffitt and Granville "Earl" Proffitt, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Anne Moulden Proffitt; and his sister-in-law Barbara Proffitt of Winchester. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
