It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph A. Palmer of Winchester, Virginia, who passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Joseph A. departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Joseph A. may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Joseph A. leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Salis Palmer and Elizabeth Foster Palmer; and his siblings, William "Sonny" Palmer and Virginia Loy. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley M. Cook Shipe Palmer; and his stepdaughters, Vivian D. Malone of Elizabethtown, KY, Brenda M. Mauck of Rabun Gap, GA, Connie D. Crites of Baker, WV, Corinna D. Alkire of Rio, WV and Angela M. Shipe of Mathias, WV.
