She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Edna DeHaven; her grandparents, Daniel and Effie DeHaven; her husband Gordon Rhodes Nelson, Sr.; her daughters, Anita Jenkins (Nathan), Susan McCulloch (John) and Stephanie Nelson; her grandchildren, Alison D'Alessandro (Carmine), Natalie Gerometta (Justin), Jason Jutila (Claudia), Kristin Jutila, Jack McCulloch (Nikki), Josh McCulloch (Brooke), Jessica Creamer (Ray) and JaMichael Creamer; her great grandchildren, Carter Gerometta, Isabella, Nicholas, Nate D'Alessandro, Jason, John, Justin Jutila, Jackson, Charley McCulloch, Emma, Molly, Ruby McCulloch, Margo, Liam, Mia, Levi Reck and Hayden Fleetwood; her siblings, Helen Corbin, Ann Shiflett, Carolyn Helmick, Jean DeHaven and Allen DeHaven; her son Gordon Rhodes Nelson, Jr.; and her siblings, Linda Wiley, Joe and Sonny DeHaven.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (116 S Loudoun St, Winchester, VA 22601).
