He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Ewing and Hazel Ewing; his former wife Mary Anna Layman Ewing; and his siblings, Frances Carbaugh, Betty York, Janet Schaumburg, Arthur Ewing, Thomas Ewing and Donald Ewing.
He is survived by: his wife Bettye; his children, Pamela Ewing Janney (Becky) of Richmond, VA and Michael Ray Ewing (Tierney) of Arlington, VA; and his grandson Alexander Michael Ewing of Annapolis, MD..
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Amherst Chapel (1600 Amherst St, Winchester, VA 22601). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ray's memory to the Stephens City Lions Club at e-clubhouse.org/sites/stephenscityva or to Stephens City United Methodist Church, 5291 Main St., Stephens City, VA 22655.
