He was predeceased by: his parents, James Pappas and Annie Pappas (Tassopoulos). He is survived by: his wife Kostantina "Connie" Pappas (Kossiaras); his children, Ann Pappas Coverstone (Greg) of Stephenson, VA and James Sortis Pappas of Silver Spring, MD; his brother Julian Pappas of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Demitri Pappas (Sarah), Lawrence Pappas, Aspacia Coverstone and Zachary Coverstone; and his great grandchild Isabelle Pappas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Sortis may be made to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1700 Amherst St, Winchester, VA 22601.
