Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Sylvia for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Talmadge Scott and Blanche Harrison Scott; her husband Richard Lee Griggs; her son Thomas "Tommy" Bonniwell; and her sisters, Doris Whitley, Gloria Davis, Norma Harris and Rosalie Lewis.
She is survived by: her son Michael S.; her daughter-in-law Mirtha A. Bonniwell; her grandsons, Camden and Ethan Bonniwell; and her sister Mary Paul Harmon (Butch). She is also survived by numerous nephews and a niece.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home (94 Market St, Onancock, VA 23417).
