He is survived by : his wife Linda Sue Holbrook; his children, Cecil Joe Holbrook, Jr. (Gaye) of Atlanta, Texas and Nancy Sutherland (Kevin) of Nora, Virginia; his siblings, Thelma Johnson (Raymond) of Council, June Johnson (Roy) of Council, Shirley Sluss of Nickelsville, Ruby Broel (David) of Atlanta, Georgia and James Ed "Jimmy" Holbrook (Linda) of Trammel, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Hunter Holbrook, Landon Holbrook, Whitney Palmer and Austin Palmer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
