Christopher Shawn Smith Obituary

Big Stone Gap, VA-Christopher Shawn Smith Christopher Shawn Smith (Butter) aged 51, passed away on unexpectedly in Wise, VA.

Chris was the son of the late Harold and Barbara Messer Smith, he was one of three children.

He attended and graduated from Powell Valley High School class of 1991. While he was in High School, he played football for the Powell Valley Vikings.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Debra Lynn Smith, and brother Paul D. Smith Jr.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Tori Lane and husband Bobby, & Brandi Smith, girlfriend Regina Gentry, the mother of his children Sherry Davis, his grandchildren, Brentley Maggard, Liam Smith, Bexley Maggard, Hayven Smith, Lanceston Lane, nieces Misty Hillman, Amber Zax, nephews Chad Bishop, Greg Bishop (Angie), Joey Herron, Trey Smith, several great nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Holding Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 3:00, pm. A funeral procession will then depart Holding Funeral Home at 3:00pm. Graveside Services will follow in American Legion Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Qualls officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
