We are sad to announce that on October 16, 2025, Dakota Collins (Wise, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Barry Collins and Brenda Matheison-Collins; and his grandparents, Sherri and Bill Collins of Coeburn. He is survived by: his fiancé Jalie Ward; his children, Kaleigh Ward, Klyde Collins and Kori Collins of Wise; his brother Jason Matheison (Jessica Stallard) of Johnson City, TN; his grandmother Wilma Matheison of Norton; and his niece Macie Matheison of Norton. He is also survived by aunts and cousins; and lots of great, close friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (1621 Norton Rd SW, Wise, VA 24293).

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family at Sturgill Funeral Home P.O. Box 1068 Wise, VA 24293.

“We knew Dakota as a child. His grandparents Bill & Sherry were very close family friends. They loved him so much, their first grandchild. Dakota was a delightful child. He had such a vivid imagination, loved exploring and so full of energy! He called our daughter Ascha because he couldn't pronounce Sascha 😄.
