He was predeceased by: his parents, Enos Barnette and Maudella Barnette; and his siblings, Richard Barnette, John Barnette, Polly Baldwin and Marie Castle.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Wayne Barnette (Susan), Brian David Barnette (Sherry), Johnny Dwight Barnette (Lisa), Tammy Barnette Meade (Tony) and Patty Denise Fogarty. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (1621 Norton Rd SW, Wise, VA 24293). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel (1621 Norton Rd SW, Wise, VA 24293). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at the Beverly Cemetery.
