He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ison and Tennie Pemberton Donathan; his siblings, Jack, Harry, Thomas Ferguson, John Jr., Peter Donathan and Ernestine Marshall; his sisters-in-law, Mary Donathan and Angela Moore Donathan; and his nephew Dr. Robert Marshall.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Karen McCue Donathan (Peter) of St. Clarksville, Ohio; and his close friends, Travis Kennedy and Derek McFall.
