With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Silas Mark Thompson of Wise, Virginia, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 6, 2025 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Silas leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Silas may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maggie Thompson and Silas Thompson; and his daughter Jennifer Thompson. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Janelle Winston, Aidan Thompson, Zachary Thompson, Dayton Thompson, Jasmine Williams and Jocelyn Matthews; and his significant other Andrea Cantrell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home (956 Park Ave NW, Norton, VA 24273-1821). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A procession will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Laurel Grove Cemetery (4805 Kentucky Ave SE, Norton, VA 24273).
